 The Britax Decathlon is a comfortable, attractive and safe car seat. As with all the Britax car seats this seat is one of the safest around. Customers have been told by State Patrol during car seat inspection days that this is the Cadillac of car seats. These seats are built way above the minimum American safety standards.One of the nice features of the Decathlon is the adjustable crotch strap. Also the extra padding that is placed in the seat for infants is removable and the whole cover is machine washable. Being a convertible car seat the Decathlon will accommodate an infant from 5 pounds to 33 pounds or at least one year old in the rear facing setup. Once they are over 20 pounds or one year old they can be in the forward facing position up to 65 pounds. |

They also like the washable cover on the Decathlon. Several parents have talked about how their children would cry and were uncomfortable in other car seats but when they got in their Decathlon they settled down and were happy. This really speaks to how comfortable these seats really are. This is a mixed one but many people say the seats are easy to install while a few mention they are difficult. It seems this comes down to the individual and maybe the car they are putting the seat into. ConsOne of the biggest issues customers face is deciding which Britax seat to get. Many people wonder whether to get the Britax Boulevard or the Decathlon. Also the seat is not removable, in the sense that you can pull it out and put in on a stroller. When you have a sleeping infant it makes it a bit disruptive to pull them out and then put them into something else. This works for some people but others find it a challenge. If you have not seen the Britax car seats in a store you need to be aware that they are larger then most. Yet it is the size that helps make these seats so safe. |
